My favorite manga ever, it draws heavy inspiration from Uzumaki and Twin Peaks, both of which are paid homage to in various scenes. The mangaka has stated that he has always been a lot more interested in American entertainment than Japanese entertainment, so the artstyle is very unconventional for a manga, and lends itself to its tone which itself feels a lot more like an American film.
