Trying to remember the name of a book from my childhood.
When I was in elementary school we had this guy come in, and shill his books. I can't remember if he was the author or illustrator or both. This would have been in the early to mid 90's.
The book was about this villager who creates a window, his fellow villagers get excited about it, and they start adding onto the structure. It gets so big as to become a huge structure. Then it gets depressing, and eventually the original creator crawls back outside through the window. I remember all the villagers looking the same, but this might be wrong.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
