that said, it doesn't matter what you choose. all skilled jobs will soon be automated where feasible, and staffed by h1bs from third world countries who will work for pennies on the dollar where it isn't.
the only thing even worth considering is medical school. when we go single payer (and it will happen in every single country where the poor are allowed to vote, because there are always countless losers for every winner) your salary will hit rock bottom because private practice will be outlawed and all medical profession wages are set by the government... but at least you won't starve. not that you'll really want to live at that point anyway.
you want practical experience for the future? go live in venezuela or brazil. that's what the rest of the world will soon look like. only this time, there will be nowhere to run.
