It still scratches some sort of Ghost in the Shell itch, but it's definitely not as good as the original movie or Stand Alone Complex. The new 2045 Ghost in the Shell anime, though? That's straight up garbage.

Because, if that's the case, I highly recommend going back and actually watching the TV anime, since most of the best episodes of both seasons of Stand Alone Complex or the non-story character episodes.
