Last year, I bought myself a GAOMON PD1560 drawing screen as a christmas present, and it's probably one of the best purchases I've made in a while. It cost me 300€ +import tax, which sounds like a lot, but compared to wacom's screens it's very cheap. Using it feels a hundred times better than a simple tablet, though I'm still slightly more comfortable with traditional means.
You should look around for cheaper alternatives if you're not creating art professionally, like I'm not.
