So, I write for fun and I've made this really big world set in modern times that revolves around magic, but I think I accidentally/unintentionally stole someone's own idea.
A main character has a magic sword that essentially grants demi-god/mythological hero-tier strength, speed, and stamina. However with great strength comes a lot of problems, and the character often breaks fingers, overextends muscles, rips skin- etc. To counter this, the sword also provides a regenerative aspect that heals this character at a much faster rate than any normal human.
I watched Boku No Hero Academia the other day, then read some of the manga and got fucking depressed. How do I deal with this? Is my own idea too similar to Deku's "one for all?" Is the whole, "so strong you fuck up your own body" thing an actual trope in fiction?
I'm legitimately worried, I really don't want to ripoff anyone's own work, yet I've went and put in an astronomical amount of tile into this world and this character.
