>>1280581>You used the same mapfile for two different images? In that case you now have two incomplete images. If you have two img files then you indeed switched as some point. It was a mistake. A very bad one but man I was so tired last night and then when I resumed I must not have realised. I don't know how I got it wrong or how I made this sort of mistake.
Do you know how long this took and how long I spent plugging in a USB? Now I have to do it all again? I mean I got lucky the first time round because there was ONE point where he drive stayed connected for an hour. I was not having such luck later.
Shit man.
>>1280582>You can get dd for windows, or you can boot a linux again.Oh, thank you so much. I hope this is the solution and it works because shit man. How will I know it worked by the way? What's the failure/success state I'm looking for?
Also I'm going to keep my backups but edit the main file because that's on a USB I can easily plug in anyway with nothing else really on it.
Also, how do I know for certain that I did actually make this stupid mistake, and that rescuefile.img wasn't just a test run I did after which I started proper on rescuefile_img.img? Is there any way to check this please?
>>1280582>dd bs=512 if=rescuefile.img of=rescuefile_img.img conv=sparse,notruncThis should be my next step regardless, right?
