So I decided to actually torrent their release and see the quality of the funsub translation, only to find out it was on par at best and in some cases worse. The basic intention of what each character was trying to say was exactly the same, but there was one scene in particular where Maya is talking about the chance of the Angel dropping over Tokyo 3. In the FUNimation "shit" translation, she says something to the affect of "It's over 99%" whereas in the NemDiggers fansub, you get her saying pic related.
I mean yeah, you can see the percentage moving on screen and put two and two together but it's still a really shitty fucking translation, nothing was lost by having Maya say 99%.
