The best way to answer your question is a little story. I was reading a thread on /v/ about how 4chan was progressive. It got about 66 (you)s, with a lot of people calling that post revisionist and that 4chan was always racist, others saying the racism was ironic but now that there's actual racist it's bad, etc etc. As I was reading it, a thought in my mind: only those who were there can say for definite how it was. If you were there, why are you even arguing on this topic since you already know how it was?
66 posts, 500 posts, of basically lore to say whose the outsiders of /v/. Not one post on games was posted in that thread.
The point of the story is that you should be seeking and posting threads that are worth your time. What I mean, is something like this thread, a twitter thread that seeks to argue about culture war, is not worth your time. Don't reply to posts that are wasting your time or are trying to. Etc etc, you have a sphere of control of your posts, and thus, you should control it to get good posts. I'm a dumbass so I quite enjoy lurking at dumb flame wars, but if you don't (and you shouldn't, it's junk food for the brain) avoid those threads.
