I've never watched any anime outside of the occasional episode of Dragon Ball when I was a kid. These days I'm interested in immersion and atmosphere first when it comes to any sort of escapism (vidya, movies, books etc). And some of the esthetics of anime look really interesting.
If anyone is willing to shoot some recommendations my way I'd really appreciate it. Looking for something with the vibe of pic related.
Whilst I'm willing to give anything a try, I am mostly interested in realism (or something where the suspension of disbelief is not that necessary). Basically I'm not interested in any fantastical or dystopian themed stuff (includes aliens, trans-humanism, mechs, androids etc). No super powers, wizardry, alchemy or anything inspired by the old mistery religions (which would include everything with gods, demigods, witches) or their more modern (gnostic) adaptations. Also no degeneracy -- lolis, crossdressing, lewdness or dickbait of any kind take me out of the experience instantly.
I admit the above sounds pretentious and condescending, I hope you guys can see past that and help me out.
