The parameters: A movie where most of the characters are obsessed with a specific (usually competitive) activity, such as a game or sport. The characters are not necessarily obsessed with a THING (such as an object, accolade, or senpai's attention), but a singular activity that becomes a way of life for them. It also drives most, if not all, of the plot threads in the show.
Film examples: Dodgeball, Poolhall Junkies
Anime examples: Girls und Panzer, Initial D, Keijo, Saki, Scorching Ping Pong Girls, Yu-Gi-Oh
So, as you can see, I could REALLY use some help finding more live-action films that fit this description. But I'll take anime recommendations if they're all you've got. I've already been recommended Haikyu. Thanks in advance!
