My dad used to have a Texas map (blue) as his wallpaper for Windows 98 (maybe 95 too).

I asked him about it but he doesn't remember. I tried googling for default/factory wallpapers that came with Windows, but I can't find anything.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and/or has the picture?

As I remember with 95/98 you could set the logo and image at start to whatever you wanted. Companies/schools would set it so screen started showing a company logo for example. So the image your dad used could be from anywhere, not a factory default image.

The fact that he doesn't remember makes me think he didn't explicitly choose it, rather went with something available by default.

It could, though, be a personalized wallpaper by the laptop manufacturer.

This is pretty much all I have: it was a personal laptop, in the 90s, bought in Brazil (most likely imported).

Texas Instruments Logo? They made some computers... but I think they were all MS-DOS era things. Not sure about that.

That's the logo/map, I'm 99% sure.

Maybe I won't find the picture they provided as the wallpaper on Google, but the mystery is solved. And yeah, it was at the very least a Windows 95 computer, could have been on the 98, so they lived longer than you thought.
