Image that changes from thumbnail

I followed this but it didnt quite work. The goal is to make one of those imahes that looks different as a thumbnail than when it expands.

I used gimp instead of photoshop and ran the tool at the end with wine, but other than that yes I did

What did you try? I find that it never works in image viewers. I've only seen it work when posted here, actually.
