Its less than 4chan/reddit do things better, and more down to the individual communities at that time.
Reddit does have the advantage of its threads sometimes being archived better that contributes to bigger projects that outsiders will benefit from tho.
Like the r/piracy subreddit that has a bunch of guides and resources built in, or the various music subs that will usualy give better sugesstions without actualy needing to ask.
Reddit also has a similar advantage to what double chan did, in that users can create boards/subreddits
But really, 4chan does some things better than reddit, to the point that comparing the two sites isn't really fair. They work in differn't ways, to do differn't things.
