Looking for anime with a strong directorial vision. A satisfying ending that doesn't overstay its welcome, usually 1-2 cour.

For examples of what I mean, I'm looking for things like:
>Samurai Champloo
>Tatami Galaxy
>Paranoia Agent
>Madoka Magica
>Parasyte

I have no specific request in terms of genre other than I am looking for something that has a clear story with a beginning and end, so slice-of-life and episodic comedy are out.

They are usual suspects but you didn't list Trigun and Cowboy Bebop so on the off chance you havent seen them go watch em.
A lot of people say Monster is worth watching but it starts slow. I have yet to give it that chance myself but its an option.
Its not a series but watch the Ruroni Kenshin OVA. You dont even need to have seen the original series to appreciate it. It will scratch your itch for a day.
Past that I have been asking a similar question for years and anime like that are few and far between.
Its not out yet but the manga Uzumaki is going to be getting (currently making it) what appears to be a very high quality anime adaptation. The manga is fantastic and they seem to be doing a 1-to-1 adaptation so we have that to look forward to.

Bebop has a similar vibe to champloo, althought the end is not as satisfying.
Kaiba is from the same director as tatami galaxy and one of the best anime i watched in recent years, the only downside (for me) would be that the ending felt somewhat rushed.

You are mistaken because you are a newfag.
Its okay, I understand its hard when you come in after the fact and try to view it through a tainted lense.
For example, very little of what Champloo did appealed to normalfags at first.
You see it now that """vaporwave""" and """"""""""""lofi""""""""""""" is mainstream and popular but Champloo is what introduced the west to Japanese hip hop and started the long chain of events that led to where we are now.
Your favorite music artist lists Nujabes as an inspiration. And despite what they may try to claim 99.999% chance they learned of Nujabes through Champloo directly, or through someone who learned of him through Champloo.
As for the edgy part, yeah sure maybe its edgy if all you have ever seen is shounen like Naruto.
Its a seinen, an entire genre of equally dark and bloody anime.

Nah. Everything it did from the hip hop (Although I guess you fags call it "lofi" now lol) to the "FUCK SHIT IM SO BADASS" was extremely mainstream with normalfags backs then, and still is now.

Thankfully it's starting to show its age though, which tends to happen when you try too hard to appeal to mainstream--mainstream is always changing, so if you align too much with the trends of the day, you come off as corny tomorrow.
