I am making a separate post because I got no working answers in Linux threads. If I get no solution for my problem I might just jump off the fucking bridge. Audio on my freshly installed Pop OS sounds like it's coming form a fucking tin can. I spent several days trying to find a solution online. Other people had similar problem with their laptops but no one provided a single working solution. Audio sounded fine on Windows but now it's shit. Please help me or I might just an hero myself to stop the suffering of looking for a solution everyday from 1PM to 6AM.

Laptop speakers. I had same problem on Windows but fixed it by installing realtek audio drivers. I had similar problem on Ubuntu a year ago but don't remember how I fixed it.

That's how audio on Linux sounds, especially if using Alsa.

You'll also notice the volume in Linux is much lower - 60% in Linux is like 25% in windows because kernel uses generic shitty drivers rather than use the hardware correctly.

Go back to Windows, otherwise yeah you may as well jump off a bridge because the only good linux tranny is a dead one.

Looks like popos uses pulseaudio.

I’ve never used popos but I do use pulseaudio on Arch Linux and it works fine.

If I were you I would post a thread on the popos forum in which you should kindly specify that you are a noob and need help troubleshooting an audio issue.

Stop having a melodramatic meltdown over a computer...

I tried switching to ubuntu but I had same problem and kept messing with it until Audio completely disappeared and I had to fresh install again

Will Arch base distro give me more trouble than Ubuntu or Pop OS? Only reason why I switch is because I only ever play on emulators and Linux works faster on my laptop.

quite the opposite really, the only difference is that arch uses pacman instead of apt and you never have to hunt for ppas or other bs for your programs.
just make sure you try one with a graphical install and a DE like manjaro or artix, I use yay on my terminal for anything exotic nowadays

Don't worry mate. The search for an answer is what separates the man from the animals. Use it to learn something.

There is no right universal solution. Try learning more about your audio system (I am guessing you are using also+pulse audio) maybe clients sample frequency is broken or you got a driver module that is incompatible with the hardware. For us to help you we would need your hw and os and configs so it's not easy to do that fully remotely just by guessing.

I would advise using Gentoo, people in IRC are always eager to help, and i do not mean that as a joke. Otherwise, as before, check the manuals available for your sound system and adjust the configs, maybe that will help?
