No. I figure in most developed countries, 2G is phased being out and wireless companies are not reactivating phones or the 2G network is long gone.

In the US, the major carriers are sunsetting the 3G network and I had to upgrade my iPhone 5s to a newer iPhone.

If only there were some way you could add to your "smart phone" software that you wanted, instead of being forced to use the software your manufacturer thought was appropriate for everybody.

This is not a problem on iPhone.
