I started watching this, and god damn, when does the supposed deconstruction and mind fucking begin? I watched 15 episodes, and it's just duelist of the day fighting for Anthy. I know that the first arc is the first 13 episodes, so I powered through that, and at least then all the characters were introduced from the start so I had some reason to care about them, but then it kept going for two more episodes of new random duelists who job to Utena.
Seriously, if you genderswap Utena this becomes the most generic 2010's battle harem ever. If it's just 23 more episodes of "hurr fuck you Utena and/or Anthy I'm gonna kill you oh shit I failed" and one last episode of last minute forced 2deep4u then I don't understand the appeal. I mean, I don't mind 2deep4u, shoujo, or even older shows, NGE, CCS, and Rose of Versaille are some of my favorite shows, but this is just bland as fuck.
