Part of me wants to recommend Misfit of Demon King Academy since the machoism is mostly played for laughs. Goshogun has instances of what you don't want, but from a character standpoint it is written well enough to where it's not really "toxic" persay. G Gundam kinda sorta dances the line, mostly with the MC although Chibodee has a handful of boneheaded macho moments. I don't know about Daimos since the MC is fine but his sidekick and main rival might disqualify it. Braiger I can't recommend since it is an 80s mercenary story. Not sure about Flying Phantom Ship, but worst case scenario it's only an hour long.
