It doesn't need to be space scifi. Even if that's a genre I really like, what I love about Deep Space Nine is the acting, the writing, the character quality, the interactions and interesting relationships between the characters, and the clever episode plots.

Other shows I really love are Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Breaking Bad, the first season of Fargo, and Peep Show.
