Phone Slowdown

My phone keeps slowing down to a crawl after I use safari or certain apps on my iPhone. Is that a sign of malicious software or am I being paranoid? Is there a way to check?

Anybody else have this experience with iPhones recently?

You are not important enough for your iPhone to have malicious software on it.

Update it to the latest version, and check the battery health screen.

Yes, but if you want to be super-paranoid, back it up with encryption on, put it in DFU mode, and restore it to the latest iOS.
