I see, the "no politics means no contemporary politics" gives more room to recommend games.
1. Breath of fire IV: The game in the pic of this reply. The game feels like a slice-of-life journey in a world of fantasy. There ARE politics but are fantasy politics and there is some magic-technology but strictly speaking...the world lacks it, with the exception of guns, 1 robot-armor and some very rustic magical-cannons. 2. Atelier Iris: The current atelier games feel somewhat moe slice-of-life, but this one felt more like a magical adventure in a world of alchemy. Don't remember much technology other than alchemy making.
3. Dept. Heaven games: This mean Yggdra Union, Knights in the nightmare, Gungnir. They all have fantasy politics, take place in a fantasy world and with original gameplay. Since your thread title is "A better world" these might not fit since they are kind of grim and take place in worlds of conflict.
