I’m buying a new gaming laptop, so I need help making a sort of checklist for setting it up. This is going to be a long post, but I’ll do my best to keep it short and sweet.

Basically, I want to stay as frugal and private as possible. I know that total privacy is impossible, but I want to do everything that I can to avoid being spied on. Only a few of them are necessary evils (namely Windows), but even then I can just stay logged out of them.

1. OS
I’m going to use Windows 10 because it has the most games out of all of them.

2. Internet browser
Which Internet browsers offers the most privacy on both PC and Android? I use DuckDuckGo, but /g/ says that Searx is the safest one.

3. e-mail
Which e-mail offers the most privacy? I use Yahoo Mail for all of my accounts involving money.

4. antivirus
What’s the best free antivirus software? I use Malwarebytes.

5. office
I use LibreOffice instead of Microsoft Office so that I don’t have to deal with a Microsoft account. Is ApacheOffice better or worse than it?

6. compiler/decompiler
I use Winrar because I don’t have to pay for it and certain programs only accept .rar files.

7. torrent client
What’s the best torrent client? I use BiglyBT because it just works, but I was curious if there is a better alternative to it.

8. VPN
What’s the best free VPN? I sometimes use Hoxx VPN Proxy, but I tend to ignore it because 4chan blocks me from posting with it on.

9. cookies
Redpill me on cookies.

10. miscellaneous
I also use AdBlock, BlueStacks, and VirtualBox. Is Honey safe to use?
