This is a pic of my PC's motherboard's CPU socket. While trying to replace my CPU, I made a mess with thermal paste and now it looks like this. Should I put my new CPU in it or should I replace the motherboard?

Yes, I looked on Google but at this point I've done everything I reasonably can to try to clean the socket and now I just want to use my PC again, hopefully without spending all of my remaining money on a new motherboard if it isn't necessary.

But the connectors need to conduct electricity. That's why they're made of copper.
