I can't blame webmasters to close down their gates from newer people but this also means the death knell of those same communities. You need a healthy flow of outgoing and ingoing groups for your community to flourish and none of these circles intend to reach the wider culture. The age of digital tourism is dead and whatever you guys are trying to accomplish in bringing the "old Internet" back will be all for naught. Intellectually masturbating with each other on your own small exclusive circle of communities while barring any people from entering without doxing themselves in real life isn't much different than setting up a closed IRC/discord server. Ironically, that's what exactly these "communities" are, glorified chatrooms. The good times will never come back and you guys will only spiral down towards andropausal elitism.
