As to if you should give it a watch, if you like robots then sure; it's not very long (13 episodes I think it was), and it looks great. If you prefer your anime more character focused then maybe not though, but yeah it's a fun time. Also Getter Robo Armageddon is probably what you'd want to search to find it, "shin getter robo" can sort of refer to all three of the Getter OVAs.
