During my whole first year of learning Japanese, I had the Lingualift girl saved to my desktop. I would open her image up when I turned on my computer and I wouldn't close her until I'd done all my studying for the day.
She was my nemesis and my mentor. Feeling that I'd gotten to the point where I didn't need to do that anymore was a huge moment for me. It almost felt like I'd earned her approval.
