Changing MAC addresses doesn't get rid of the bandwidth penalty which is continued for as long as the PC remains connected and for approx 5 minutes thereafter on the first detection. If detection of torrenting occurs once again, the bandwidth penalty lasts for a long long time which I wasn't willing to wait and see how long it lasts.
They have new wifi routers that somehow know the ID of whatever connects regardless of MAC address spoofing (which fails to fool new wifi routers).
