>>1245491Firstly I'll give some recommendations for games that can run on a crap laptop.
Your best friends are visual novels or rpg maker games. Both of these genres may get a bad rap but there are a few solid titles among them, you just got to be open minded enough :)
I'm not going to recommend any visual novels because to each their own. vndb has a good catalogue. I'm not sure if you'll like the same writing styles as I do but I love Higurashi, Umineko, VA-11 HALL-A, Tsukihime. The latter I believe is free-ware if you look hard enough but honestly anything is.
I've downloaded a ton of rpgmaker games from vgperson so I can vouch for that site. The best ones on there is Ib (action/adventure), Your Turn To Die (mystery/visualnovel), Witch's Heart (story driven "action rpg"), END ROLL (same as WH but turn based rpg), etc. Just search for whatever game suits you. OFF (2008) is another good freeware rpgmaker game.
GOG has a good catalogue of older games so they probably won't be too demanding. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is fun.
It would've helped if you gave a better descriptor of your laptop than just "crap" because I'm not sure what your laptop can handle. I had a worthless i3 HP laptop and it ran a decent amount of my steam library so that's the only base I'm going off.
I can't vouch for many "chill" games but Yume Nikki is surreal enough that walking around is just a pleasant experience. If you ever get a better computer then the Atelier series, GRIS, and Journey are all good bets.
Enjoyable:
Doom 2
Lisa: The Painful (dark writing but still fun)
Omori (obligatory shill)
Downwell
BT6 (my laptop could run it but I'm not sure about yours)
Hope this is helpful... =w=
