I highly recommend you at least look at a 1889 book on Economic Theory called 'The Positive Theory of Capital' by Eugen von Boehn-Bawerk.
You don't have to read it cover to cover. You can skip around. But if you read it and even understand part of it, you'll quickly realize you know more than 99% of the clowns and Redditors out there.
The point of reading this isn't really to learn about Economic Theory. That's a very nice side effect. But the real reason this book is great is because it shows you that knowledge doesn't have to be obscure, poetic, bullshit. This knowledge forms the basis for modern microeconomics. It was written 130 years ago. And yet it's easy to read, and it's fresh as a daisy. It's a great example of knowledge presented in a clean, simple, logical manner, and that you don't need to be Superman to be really damn smart. Plus, the copyright has expired, so you can google it right now.
