pls, I wanna laugh. Every "comedy" manga/show I come across is not even remotely funny, just has shitty long dragged out jokes and are filled with moe shit.

Tesagure! Bukatsumono - It doesn't seem like much, but in every episode there's a larger segment when the Seiyuu start adlibbing, and it's great. The second season is even better

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - one of my favourites

Seitokai Yakuindomo - if you like lewd/sexual jokes

Ichigo Mashimaro - still cute, but point-on humour

Mitsudomoe - bit weird, but very funny

Plastic Nee-san - short, bizarre, but funny

Chances are you've seen it all, then. If something's very funny, it goes viral. It's rare for an anime with a low view count to be very funny; if it was funny, more people would've seen it.

I have a similar question. I've been watching Gintama and got through 20 episodes. I haven't laughed out loud quite yet but it was able to keep my attention. Should I continue? Is there something better out there?

Former Gintama watcher here. I actually watched every single episode, plus the movies, and some of the OVAs.

The first ~35 or so episodes are pretty boring. It does get funnier afterwards, but they do spend a lot of time on character development. This is partly the reason why I normally don't recommend Gintama to people looking for anime recommendations. I like Gintama a lot, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel good about suggesting such huge time sinks.

nichijou might make u laugh even if you dont understand the references/situations though

If you're gonna watch it, I recommend Japanese audio with English subs, or English audio by FUNimation. There are various English dubs for this show, but the FUNimation version is the funniest.
It's also surprisingly easy to find Korean & Mandarin dubs, but the Korean version has no subs, and the Chinese version has very awful English subs. The Korean & Chinese versions are also censored.
