Hey, I could really use some input on computer issue. I have searched on other places of the web but found nada for my specific scenario.
Summary:
Minor amount of diet coke (few cl) spilled onto laptop, old mac. Some went into laptop usb port, right side.
User thought they cleaned it up and dried it for 60 minutes, turned on. Used it with no issues. After about 30 minutes, they smell a burnt smell and can see "embers" or glowing in usb port. I immediately tell them to shut it off, of course. Glowing dies away instantly. How much of a fire hazard is this thing in shut off mode until I figure out what to do with it? It's just a short connected to the USB right? The glowing thing made me worried though and one doesn't want the heat to head to the battery and make there be some reaction. But if it's shut off it should be fine, right?
Super thankful for help.
