i'm officially sick and tired of consuming media (books, movies and music) as my sole hobbies, along with playing guitar.

What're some inexpensive hobbies to fill the gap?

gardening - if you have some land available, a huge vegetable plot can be quite a project, or if all you have is a patio small pots of hard to grow herbs or fancy succulents can be a challenge

only problem is getting out there to find a park but yeah, that's not a bad idea. I do calisthenics now which i like because you're never really "done", there's always something to improve on. with movies or books i don't get that sense

another issue would be inclement weather

what makes them hard to grow? i thought it would be a matter of planting, sun and water. seems almost like a set it and forget it thing.

the appeal with movies and books is that i can waste hours doing it on autopilot late at night when i'm too lazy to do anything else

that's another big problem of mine--what exactly to do, what goal in a specific hobby to accomplish, on top of not having drive to do much of anything besides daydream and live in my head

Water and sun/lights are the easy part, making a suitable ambient for plants to grow is another deal. Humidity, air renovation, temperature, soil moisture, nutrients, there's a lot to take care of
