If you had some examples of what you're after it would help because I would say those are exclusive criteria that don't overlap by definition.
unless you mean coming-of-age stuff. Then I might say Charlotte or Evangelion

Sometimes there's death. Sometimes there's blood (or blood-substitutes) Sometimes the themes are more complex and touch sensitive topics like racism, loss, fear, sacrifice, guilt, abandonment or manipulation.

Kids stories with whacky, out there fantasy settings but interspersed with mature themes. Cutesy artstyles, weird characters, etc. Uchuusen Sagittarius, GeGeGe No Kitaro, Astro Boy, Dotto Koni Chan, etc etc.

Long ago when I was maybe 8-11 years old I watched Ninja Scroll, Wicked City, Demon City, Ghost In The Shell, Spriggan(1998), Vampire Hunter D, and Akira. Then try some shows like Outlaw Star, Cowboy bebop, or Berserk (1997). These are not "kid" shows/movies though, but they are awesome to you if you are a kid who gets to see them I reckon.
