Lots of people newer to anime comedies tend to really like it, and if you like GTO and Kaguya-sama I think you'll be okay with a school setting.
Maybe also give Black Lagoon a shot. It's a "realistic" action series, so no superpowers or sci-fi stuff, but it does have several action scenes worthy of an 80s Hollywood flick. About a Japanese salaryman who winds up in over his head and stranded in the fictional Southeast Asian city of Roanapur, which is home to uncountable thugs, mercenaries, pirates, smugglers, drug dealers, arms dealers, and gangsters (Russian mafia, Chinese triads, Columbian cartel, etc). He falls in with a small smuggling team and has various misadventures with them while trying to survive the violence and chaos of Roanapur.
