Giant anime list needs trimming

I have this massive list of anime that is made up of hundreds of recommendations I’ve received over the years. I’ve already purged it of duplicates and organized it, but I’m now trying to trim it

It doesn’t need any additions, please recommend shows for removal. If there are any shows here that you think are an awful waste of time that I’d be better off not seeing, let me know.

Death Note, Speed Grapher, Angels of Death, Monogatari, Kino no Tabi, Utena, Tatami Galaxy, Mawaru Penguindrum, Yuru Camp, Recreators, and Made in Abyss are there twice
7 seeds is a very rushed and shitty adaption of the manga
Citrus is dogshit even for soap opera schlock
Danganronpa is one of the worst video game adaptions out there and Corpse Party isn't much better, you're better off playing the original games
Neither Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku nor Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero are bad, but they're basically the same thing. I personally think MahoIku is better, but you could remove either or without missing anything
Can't comment on the isekai, but watch one of them and if you don't like it, get rid of the rest because they largely follow the same formula. Youjo Senki is my personal exception, but YMMV
Gun Gale Online is a spin-off of Sword Art Online. I wouldn't recommend either, but they're not objectively bad
I thought GATE (JSDF), Btoom!, Gleipner, and Sakurasou sucked but they're not objectively bad

Other stuff: Utena is stellar but wait for Some_Stuffs to finish fansubbing it before watching it. The official translation is terrible and fanfiction-tier
Middle Manager Tonegawa is a spin-off of Kaiji. Both are very good
The God of High School and Tower of God aren't anime, they're Korean. Haven't seen either but I've heard they're shit
Vila Amalka isn't an anime, it's Czechslovakian, and the Japanese version is a dub if you care about that kind of thing
Thunderbolt Fantasy isn't necessarily an anime, it's Taiwanese stop-motion, but it's exceptional. Japanese voiceover is (one of) the original(s)
You should probably separate anime movies into another section

They're the same thing in the sense of being madoka clones (cute girls suffering through magical means), but one is essentially mahou shoujo hunger games and the other bored me to tears. They definitely stand separate.

It's a "multimedia project", so to get a story that makes sense, you need to read a bunch of LNs and comics (that don't have an official translation) and play a Vita game (that doesn't have an official translation).

Otherwise it's just a load of nonsense with an asspull ending.

Spinoff of Kaiji, which isn't on your list. I think Kaiji is incredible, but I didn't find Middle Manager Tonegawa funny enough to continue, and I dropped it after a couple episodes.

It irritated me. I found the characterization to be inconsistent, and I think it has an outsized reputation purely from the subject matter.

Concept could be interesting, but a lot of the writing is shallow. It's also designed as wish fulfillment for edgy 12 year olds.

What? No. It sticks to the premise until the last few episodes. There's nothing "pretty early on" about it.

Only S2. S1 is great. S2 is notoriously poor quality and it shows one of the big faults of the series in that the gimmick wears a bit thin and they have to keep focusing on other characters instead of the titular One Punch Man. So yeah, stop after S1.

It's a dumb wacky ecchi anime. There are plenty of others out there that do both comedy and ecchi better, so I wouldn't waste your time on this. Honestly the plot is pretty bad.

It's gay, you know that right? It's an adaptation of a classic fujo manga. I think the anime is heavily flawed because they decided to modernize it. The original is set in the 80s iirc. The anime is set in modern times which just creates plot holes, ie why aren't they using cell phones and shit to contact each other or whatever? Certainly not bad but that aspect heavily irked me.

What the transformers series? It's trashy mecha for kids. There is certainly much better stuff to spend your time on.

This got a bad reputation at first because the mc SCREAMS A LOT. It got better as it went along, but it's still a mediocre long running shounen and probably not something you would want to spend the time on. I mean it has like over 200 episodes.

Just listen to the song. The anime is all style and no substance. Honestly not even that, it's just mediocre.

The plot of this is all over the place and becomes extremely rushed in the 2nd half. This was created by the same guy that made Angel Beats, which is on your list, so if you liked that give this a try I guess, but no promises.

Dumb melodrama yuri series. Has some ecchi, but the plot and characters suck and drags shit out for too long. It's controversial among yuri fans.

The anime only adapts the start of the manga and it feels unsatisfying since it pretty much accomplishes nothing. There is no real cathartic ending or good stopping point. It felt pointless. I think it got an anime too soon, they should have waited for the manga to have more content.

It's some generic cgdct spokon series. Nice ecchi, but nothing about it is really all that notable.

The anime or the whole series? The anime was kind of mediocre, but it did redo the very start of the series so I guess if you're a fan of RWBY that might interest you.

Well there's a bunch of series on there that I'd call "borderline" but it really comes down to personal preference. Since I don't know anything about your preferences I'm just going to focus on the stuff that I think is either skippable or needs context.

Bog standard harem romcom with all the usual cliches. I guess if this is literally your first ever harem rom com and you've never seen the "childhood amnesia" trope, go nuts, but really it does absolutely nothing special, I can recommend you other shows that use 90% of the same cliches and are more entertaining.

Even as a huge medieval history buff I find it hard to recommend this show to anybody. It's just not very well done and only adapts a small segment of its source material with no hope of a second season. If you don't drop it put on the very bottom of your priority list.

I gotta wonder how you got rec'd this. It's one of those shows that was popular on /a/ and virtually nowhere else. I guess you can go ahead and watch it, but I'd be shocked if you really liked it.

There are so many different Lupin incarnations that this is like saying you're going to watch "Gundam". You're going to be at it a while if you intend to go whole hog, what with the dozens of films, 6 different TV seasons with distinct characterizations and continuities (or lack thereof), and various cross over specials. If you like I can give you some specific recommendations on where to start or what to prioritize for Lupin III as I've seen nearly the entirety of it.

They are animated by Japanese studios and have Japanese voice acting, but they are adapted from Korean comics. And yes, they're shit. GoHS has amazing sakuga-tier animation but the story is an incoherent clusterfuck of nonsense and its impossible to care about anything happening in it.
