No Signal

No.138319 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
My problem is this: Every 3rd or 4th time I switch on my PC, the monitor stays blank. If I turn the monitor off and then on again, it says no signal (I'm using a DVI port).
Most of the time, if I just shut down the computer with the power button, and then turn it on again, then everything works fine after that. So I can go like 2 weeks like this, my monitor not receiving signal on the first startup, only the second or the third.
But every now and then, it wont get the signal, no matter how many times i restart my PC. When this happens, I have to reset the CMOS, after that the signal is once again ok.

But I'm tired of this shit, and I dont know what to do. I have tried it with different monitors, it's the same, so it isn't the monitor or the cable.

That leaves the GPU (gtx 970 gainward) and the motherboard (ASRock z77 Pro3).
How can I decide which one is at fault here, without an other computer to put this stuff in?
