If this is within the first two years of college then do NOT use textbooks, Khan Academy with 3blue1brown is superior to any textbook source. If it's above the first two years then use Anki liberally to take all your notes (as opposed to doing by hand) and that means that even intractable and poorly communicated theorems can "stay" in your head without being forgotten. This becomes important when you really need to remember material from topic A to understand topic B which you encounter way later (viz. Noethers First Isomorphism theorem being crucial for Van Kampen theorem several years later). As horrible and toxic as the forum is, Stack Exchange is also generally the best place for QA, so ask them questions if you run into issues.
Since you mentioned getting into uni though the latter points shouldn't be an issue, you're basically taken care of with khan academy
