Every time I've seen a white person in anime or manga, it's either a cop-out of "oh I was born and raised in Japan and I'm actually really bad at English lol" or a meme character who speaks in a nonsensical WaCkY aCcEnT. On top of that, trying to look for more examples of mange/anime series that feature foreigners is only returning infuriatingly shitty articles going "Have you heard about BANDIT KEITH?!" or whatever.

Are there any anime or manga that actually try to earnestly represent a foreigner? Struggling with the language, trying to be polite but not understanding expected behavior, and so on?
