Generally small game(rabbit, squirrell, grouse, etc) don't need a hunting license so you can buy a bow/crossbow and go out today and start hunting. pest species don't require a license either so you could hunt coyotes and the like. some places will pay you to hunt coyote, turn in the tails for 40 a pop at the appropriate government office, and sell the fur privately.
in my area most landowners will let you hunt pests on their property and even more likely to allow it if your no guns hunting
