My dad has some dumbbells that were gifted to him for his birthday, but they have that high noxious factory chemically smell on them that seem to be prevalent in places like Harbor Freight. It's really intense and I'm not sure what to do to get it out of the dumbbells other than setting them outside and letting them off gas for the next 5 years.
For reference, they're the kind with lots of rubber around the weighted parts in a hexagonal shape.
