Are there stories (any medium) about more or less mundane people that are revealed midways or in the end to actually live on a space station and the entire thing is taken very casually by the characters despite being a big bomb for the audience? As in, the characters knew all along, the audience was kept in the dark.
I ask for mundane/"modern", I know of fantasy settings that did this twist like the OG Ultima games or Might & Magic.
