A few years ago in the gravel pit I live nearby there was a group of people that would fly RC airplanes.
Not quadcopters or helicopters, small model airplanes.
One of the guys had been doing it for decades and would train the newbies on how to fly with really slow ones and he had a second controller in case the other person lost control.
Was really fun to watch and they would have a lunch break for an hour while some batteries charged up.
