What's the file size?
Probably corrupt. Try uploading it somewhere so I can download and try. If I can't play it, I'd say the file is just fucked.
Actually I take that back. .avif files do the same shit. I still hang on to them although I suppose converting them would be a simpler solution for the long term. But, the same goes for converting. If no converters can open it, then it might just be fucked.
