"Naissance" is a F2P game about wandering through abstract superstructures, the music is mostly ambient but does have some beats. It's a cool game, might scratch that BLAME! itch for you, but it doesn't have any combat. It's on Steam.

"0_abyssalSomewhere" is also F2P, and it's kind of like BLAME! but with sword and shield instead of nuke gun. Extremely atmospheric, lots of wandering around and taking in the scenery, occasional NPC interactions, rare fights. This one's on Itchio

Unfortunately I don't know a lot of 2D games. I haven't played it but "Rain World" looks cool, although it's way less grim than BLAME! is
