Help me understand poker. The left is ace high? on the right how does qq lose? it said a kicker but i don't really understand it after looking it up.

On the right, the winning hand is 4 of a kind (four 2s). QQ loses because the best hand you can make is 2222Q. 2222Q is beat by 2222A.

The point is to make the best hand possible. QQQ22 becomes irrelevant because 2222Q is better.
