Looking for movies, episodes, books, comics or whatever else with the theme of "It's not enough to love your kid. You have to love 'em the right way."

I recently watched Encanto and it was nice that there's no real "villain" since everyone loved and cared about one another they just didn't do it right. But it was Disney movie so there are no consequences to their errors. So I would prefer stories with bittersweet results or even just plain total failure to correct themselves.
