I often come across stuff these days that does a good job at portraying complex characters and their thoughts (usually women or teens), but then falls absolutely flat when it comes to portraying an "average", grown-ass man with any level of depth or realism.

I'm looking for stuff (movies, comics, anime, whatever) which do a good job at portraying complex, adult male characters and their thoughts. Not just as in "this is an interesting character (who is a man)".
