Japanese horror movies tend to have a really convoluted story lines. A slasher movie seems too meat and potato for a typical Japanese horror movie.
I think this movie called "Puzzle" might be considered a "Slasher". From what I remember it was about some kid taking revenge on his friend who got raped by school faculty. He makes death traps, so its kinda like SAW.
