hello, I need to recover data from an SSD blocked by bitlocker. There are 5 years of photo life on it and because of a loss of Windows key I cannot repair the partition..
How could I bypass/crack the disc? the windows session is broken, I can't do anything anymore.
if there is a way, it doesn't matter to me to complicate it or not. thanks in advance

what do you mean? what about the phrase and/or password?
did you google it? that's the best I can do. maybe go look around github. there are some workarounds and hacks.

if anything, it's a good life lesson: you keep backups of your important files(this includes encryption keys for your drives) on other drives and you don't lock them, if you do you don't lose your one way of unlocking them.

Dictionary attack, could take years and drive could fail from the constant use. If you try make a backup and crack the backup

If I can access a bitlocker drive from linux (which I can) then you should be able to boot into a linux system, mount the drive, enter the original password, and access the files.
Assuming you actually have the password ofc :)

From what I can see BitCracker could run 133 million passwords a day on 5 year old GPUs. Also no reason you couldn't run multiple instances with more hardware. You could get in inside of a year if you really wanted

If you were signed in with a microsoft account, go here to find the recovery keys for your drive:

If not, your best line of investigation is to see if you can locate the master key on the drive (or whatever boot drive was being used with it) and gain access to that to in turn decrypt the drive.
If you weren't using a microsoft account, and you no longer have the master key file anywhere (e.g. corrupted, or lost/wiped boot drive), then you're probably shit out of luck.

Even then, only works if you can attack the password and not the much longer encryption key. If the master key file is lost then you can't do that.
